A clash took place between the police and the smugglers near the Nepal-India border in Birgunj this afternoon while they were trying to control the smuggled goods on November 22. Police arrested two of the smugglers for beating the police. They also recovered smuggled goods from them. Other smugglers are absconding. Among the arrested are Munna Sathi and Mina Devi of Chhapkaiya, Birgunj.
Jai Prakash Pandey, in-charge of the temporary police post at Inarwa, sustained deep injuries in his nose due to the attack of the smugglers.
