A man was injured in a khukuri attack that took place at Thalajung of Gorkha. Junga Bahadur Tamang of Shukla Gandaki Municipality, Tahanu sustained injuries to his head and right elbow in the attack that took place on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred while he was on the way to the District Forest Office, Gorkha to register a tender firm to purchase timber from the Mirkot-based Palung Gaire Community Forest. A group hiding in the forest of Thalajung area reportedly injured Tamang. The assault was pre-planned, as the police said following the preliminary investigation into the case. The police are further investigating the case, Mirkot Police Beat Assistant Inspector Ekbir Malla said. The injured are undergoing treatment at Palungtar-based hospital.
