The Badi community, which has been adopting sex trade for their livelihood, has demanded the government take proper initiative for their proper rehabilitation. At a program ‘Ways to resolve problems of Badi community’ organized here on Saturday by the National Badi Rights Struggle Committee, they demanded the government to immediately implement the agreements made with them. The government should arrange settlement and provide them with land ownership certificate, they added. On the occasion, Minister of State for Land Reforms Bikram Bahadur Thapa said there should be an environment for the Badi community to live in a society with respect and pledged to provide them with the land where they are living right now.

Similarly, Chairperson of Good Governance and Monitoring Committee of the Legislature-Parliament Mohan Singh Rathor said though the political change occurred in Nepal no change came in the Badi community people's lives. Rathor said he was trying to implement an agreement between the government and Badi community signed in 2064 BS. Struggle Committee Chairperson Umadevi Badi warned to launch fresh protest against the government if the past pact was not implemented effectively. The government had formed a Badi Study Taskforce to prepare a report with an economic, social, educational, and political situation assessment of the Badi community in 2064 BS. As many as 257 Badi families of 16 districts now are living in Balchaur of Lamki-Chuha Municipality of Kailali.
