Abducted businessman Kedia rescued, one arrested

Businessman Suresh Kedia, who was arrested from Bara on Thursday evening, has been rescued from Motihari of Bihar state in India. A joint team of Nepali and Indian police personnel had rescued Kedia, his brother Pradip Kedia informed. An armed group, who came on a Bolero with Indian registration number, abducted the 56-year-old businessman from Baghaban along the Kalaiya-Mahagadhi road stretch as he was heading towards Birgunj from Kalaiya, the district headquarters of Bara, in his Tucson car. The abductors shot at Shyam Sah Kanu, Suresh’s driver before taking the businessman under their control. Indian police has also arrested one person involved in the abduction. Two others are said to be in large. Sources said the abduction was carried out by a notorious gang from Bihar.
