Ishan Regmi, who was detained after he was found splashing color on the walls of Singhadurbar gate and prime minister’s residence, is on hunger strike since May 22. 21-year-old Ishan has demanded that the government respond to the demands of minority groups in the country. Ishan was arrested and held by police for a few hours after he threw paint across the main entrance of Singhadurbar on the evening of May 22.

On being released, he went back and threw paint outside the Prime Minister’s residence. He was arrested again and was released on Monday, May 23. On the same day, he splashed color in the main entrance of Singhadurbar again and was arrested for the third time. He was released on May 26 on bail. Ishan and his friends were arrested and have been detained since Friday after splashing color across the walls of the eastern gate of Singhadurbar. Ishan has continued his strike in police custody.
