Petrol bomb hurled at truck in Siraha, assistant driver critically injured

Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist cadres hurled a petrol bomb at a loaded truck on Thursday, leaving its assistant driver critically injured. According to DSP Manoj Kumar Yadav, the injured has been identified as 20-year-old Basanta Magar of Mithila Municipality-4. The truck with bearing number plate Na 6 Kha 4615 was heading toward Kathmandu from Mirchiya of Siraha when the incident occurred at a jungle between Chandrapur and Paurahi of Rautahat along the East-West Highway at around 5 am, DSP Yadav said. Critically injured Magar is receiving treatment at the Chandranigahapur Hospital, Dr Subash Chaudhary informed. Police said truck driver Bal Ram Bhandari (35) of Chandrapur, Bara, sustained minor injuries. Chand-led Maoists had called a nationwide bandh today demanding the release of its arrested cadres.
