Five injured during clash at election of school management committee in Bajhang

Five people were injured during a dispute over the election of the school management committee in Bajhang on Friday and Saturday. According to police, supporters of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML resorted to clash during a dispute over the selection of the Chairman of the school management committee of Patadewal Secondary Schoool in Patadwal VDC. CPN-UML supporters were infuriated after the meeting of the guardians on Friday unanimously decided to appoint Nepali Congress supporter Tilak Khadka as the chairman of the school management committee. Supporters of Prakash Khadka, the other candidate for the position of chairman, then resorted to attacking on school principal Prakash Thapa and his relatives. DSP Narendra Chand of DPO Bajhang said that the dissatisfied party resorted to attack after the unanimous selection of the chairman. Three persons were injured on Saturday after the group that was attacked on Friday resorted to a revenge attack on the other side. All the five persons who were injured during Friday and Saturday are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Meanwhile, police arrested eight persons from both sides in connection with the incident.
