A Yarsa picker was killed in an indiscriminate shooting by an unidentified armed group in course of collecting the prized herb, also called Himalayan viagra, in the alpine meadow last night. The deceased is identified as Karma Nakhyal, 30, of Mangri, police said. The incident site is three days’ walking distance from the district headquarters. A detailed report of the injured has yet to come since the incident site is in a far-flung area where communication is also not accessible. A group of at least a dozen armed people had indiscriminately opened fire when the Yarsa pickers were asleep in the night.
