Saudi tourist arrested on charge of child sex abuse

Police on Friday arrested a Saudi Arabian tourist on the charge of engaging in illicit sexual act with a street kid. The arrested has been identified as Sahid Mohammad, 63, from Saudi Arabia. According to the police Mohammad took a 14-year-old street kid to his room in Hotel Niyal at Thamel on June 4 and engaged in improper sexual act with the kid. Police arrested him from another hotel in Thamel 5 days past the incident after the street kid lodged complaint at police with the help of an NGO called Saathi. Mohammad is a retired Army and has been living in Nepal since the past three months on tourist Visa. DSP Rabindra Regmi of Metropolitan Area Police Circle, Kathmandu, said that the arrested would be charged under Child Sex Abuse Act.
