Tharuhat/Tharuwan Struggle Committee took out a lantern rally in New Baneshwor on Sunday accusing the government of failing to address their demands. The rally was taken out to bring attention to the government after it turned deaf ear to their demands, according to the Committee. The Committee had formed a team under Dhaniram Chaudhary eleven days ago in order to hold dialogues with the government. The committee’s demands include the unconditional release of the people arrested in connection to the Tikapur carnage in August last year and consider Tharu people’s aspiration while demarking the federal states.
