Police have rescued five women on March 3 while they were on way to perform Orchestra dance in different places of India and Nepal. The rescued women are between the ages of 19- 20 and hail from from Makwanpur, Nuwakot, Bara, India while identity of one is unknown, according to Police inspector Rupa Lawung of Women and Children Service Centre, Rautahat.
The women were rescued from the house at Garuda Bazar of Rautahat following a tip-off. The women claimed that they were traveling in the orchestra dance team on their own will, however, the inspector said that they might be in a risk of women trafficking. He said the women would be handed over to the family after counseling. The victims were kept in a building of Women and Children Service Center of the District police office.
