An Indian national has been arrested for her alleged involvement in abduction of a minor girl from Bhiralakuri of Baglung Municipality-8 on December 16.

Sita Mahato, 60 of Bihar State of India has been arrested with the help of locals after she ran away when locals interrogated her while she had been walking with an eight-year-old girl hailing from Myagdi district in Bhiralakuri of Baglung Municipality, police said.

Investigation on Mahato is underway, Badri Shrestha, acting chief at Baglung District Police Office said.

Name and address of the minor girl could not be ascertained, however, the girl said that she is from Myagdi district, Rudra Bahadur KC, ward secretary of Baglung Municipality-8 said, adding that the girl was handed by locals to the police in order to search for her parents and relatives.
