A service recipient who was at the Saptari Land Revenue Office for a land registration task has been reportedly beaten by two officers today. Following the incident, daily official works have been blocked by agitating other service seekers throughout the day today. The 34-year-old Shyam Prasad Sah of Rajbiraj Municipality-10 was reportedly thrashed by the government officials Dharmendra Khadka and Yogendra Adhikari. In the government office, instead of getting service, service recipients have been asked for a bribe, Shah said showing bruises on his body. He added that he was beaten black and blue after being unable to “feed” them. Meanwhile, police had detained the officer duo and Shah for an investigation into the case. But when the officers were released immediately, irate members of the public had obstructed the service delivery.
