A man in Chiti village of Lamjung district on Friday reportedly attacked his teenage daughter with a knife, severely injuring the 14-year-old girl. Dhan Bahadur Ghale from Gairigaun, Chiti-4 is accused of attacking his eldest daughter Niruta.

According to police, Dhan Bahadur had resorted to the attack after Niruta reportedly spent the whole day in a visit to the Dordikhola Hydropower Project site yesterday. “I had gone to visit the site within my village as it was a holiday at my school,” Niruta told reporters from the hospital bed, “But,  father punished me this way for that.” There is a deep cut injury on her left arm while a minor injury on the right one. She is a seventh-grader at the local Jana Kalyan Secondary School. After the attack, the victim’s mother Kamala has brought her to the Lamjung District Community Hospital. Meanwhile, the police nabbed the suspect to investigate the case.
