The victim’s party accused Nawa Raj Duwadi,40 of severely beating his neighbour Asmita Lamsal,35 of Palpabhanjyang, Nilkantha Municipality-11 on July 20. The victim was unconscious after the beating. Asmita who is a victim of domestic violence was beaten by the accused and his family over a dispute despite helping her according to the victim. The victim sustained hand, face and other injuries over her body. She was doing a labour job after she became a victim of domestic violence. Her husband had married a second wife. According to DSP Deependra Panjiyar of DPO, the victim is undergoing medical treatment at District Hospital. The accused is at large and will be charged under the law, he said. The victim had lodged a complaint at DPO on July 21 according to the police.
