A truck was set ablaze in course of the nationwide general strike called by Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist in Tanahun today. The truck (Na 4 Kha 391) ferrying cement from Bhairahawa was intercepted by an unidentified group at Aandhikhola of Bandipur Municipality – 1 and torched. The group let the driver and his helper disembark before setting the truck on fire at 5 am. The Armed Police Force (APF) and Nepal Police personnel reached the site immediately after the incident and doused the fire. The same group also pelted stones on another moving truck (Na 5 Kha 413) shattering its windshield. The police have detained six CPN Maoist cadres on suspicion of torching the truck.
