सामूहिक बलात्कारको आरोपितलाई छाड्न दवावl

सुनसरी । फागुन २९ गते दुहबी गाविस-४ स्थित पशुपति सिन प्याकमा कार्यरत २५ वर्षीया एक महिलालाई सामूहिक बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा गिरफ्तार भएकालाई छाड्नुपर्ने माग गर्दै छिमेकी र स्थानीयहरूले ०६९ फागुन २८ गते उद्योग अगाडि दिनभर धर्ना तथा प्रदर्शन गरेका छन् । गत फागुन २३ गते साँझ पीडित महिला काम गरेर डेरा फर्किने क्रममा बाटोबाट नियन्त्रणमा लिई दुहबी गाविस-४ का २२ वर्षीय रञ्जित चौधरी, सोही ठाउँका २० वर्षीय कमल साह र २० वर्षीय जीवन चौधरीले गहुँखेतमा पुर्‍याई सामूहिक बलात्कार गरेको किटानी उजुरी इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय दुहबीमा पीडितपक्षले दिएको थियो । उक्त उजुरीको आधार प्रहरीले पीडकमध्ये रञ्जितलाई फागुन २४ गते नै गिरफ्तार गरी अनुसन्धानमा राखेको छ । गिरफ्तार भएको चौधरीको म्याद थप गरिसकेको तथा फरार भएकाहरूको खोजी र घटना अनुसन्धान गरी रहेको इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय दुहबीका इन्स्पेक्टर सुमन तिम्सिनाले जानकारी दिए । On March 6, three youth of Basantapur area allegedly raped a 25 year-old woman when she was on the way to her rented apartment at Basantapur in Duhabi, Sunsari. Rapists Ranjit Chaudhary, Jevan Chaudhary and Kamal Sah’s relatives padlocked the industry yesterday and held 350 workers hostage for four hours in the industry demanding the release of the culprit, Ranjit Chaudhary. Rapist Ranjit Chaudary is now in police custody. However, the other two perpetrators are still at large. Bibek Karna, a staff of Sonapur-based Pashupati Synpack Industry have been receiving threats for speaking out against three rapists in Sunsari district. The victim lodged a case against the rapists at the Area police office, Duhabi, only after Karna motivated her to do so. According to local activists, relatives of the rapists have been threatening Karna for the courage he has shown to raise his voice against the culprits.Area Police Office, Duhabi, Inspector Suman Timsina said he was not aware of the threats given to Karna. He said police have launched a man-hunt to track down the culprits and they would be arrested soon. The culprits will be punished soon, Timsina added. Meanwhile ABC Nepal, a Biratnagar-based NGO, has kept the 30-year-old victim in the rehabilitation centre. The organisation informed that health check-up, treatment and necessary counselling would be provided to the victim woman.
