(updated) A gang attacked a teenage boy with sharp weapons and inflicted serious injuries on him in Damauli on Saturday. Police identified the victim as Akash Thapa, a resident of Bisghare, Byas Municipality-10. He has sustained injuries on his chest, lower back and right hand. The gang of six to seven persons first took Thapa to the covered hall at BP Van Vatika, in front of the Tanahun District Administration Office, and hit him with the weapons at around 3:45 pm, according to police. He was first taken to the Damauli Hospital for treatment. He has not been sent to Pokhara and is admitted to the Gandaki Medical College, according to SP Krishna Kumar Mahat. Police have detained eight persons in suspicion of their involvement in the attack. खुकुरीको प्रहारबाट शनिबार बेलुका तनहुँमा एक जनाको ज्यान गएको छ । व्यास–१ हाईस्कूलटारका युवाको समूहले प्रहार गरेको खुकुरी लागेर घाइते भएका व्यास–१० देउरालीनगरका १८ वर्षका आकाश थापाको उपचारको क्रममा ज्यान गएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । दमौली अस्पतालमा उपचार पश्चात थप उपचारका लागि पोखरा पठाइएका थापाको उपचारको क्रममा मणिपाल शिक्षण अस्पतालमा ज्यान गएको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय तनहुँका प्रहरी उपरीक्षण कृष्णकुमार महतले जानकारी दिनुभयो । घटनामा संलग्न भएको अभियोगमा शनिबारनै प्रहरीले व्यास–१ हाईस्कूलटारका १२ जना युवालाई पक्राउ गरेको छ । दमौलीमा जारी फुटबल प्रतियोगिता हेर्न आएका थापा पिसाब फेर्न व्यास–१० विपि वन वाटीकाको सार्वजनिक शौचालय गएको मौका छोपी युवाको समूहले पछाडीबाट धारिलो खुकुरी प्रहार गरेका थिए । घटनामा प्रयोग भएको हतियार बरामद भइसकेको र घटनाको थप अनुसन्धान भइरहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय तनहुँले जनाएको छ । Update -------- हत्यामा संलग्न रहेको आरोपमा ९ पक्राउ शनिबार दिउँसो भएको एक युवकको हत्यामा संलग्न रहेको आरोपमा नौ युवकलाई जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय तनहुँले पक्राउ गरेको छ । ब्यास नगरपालिका–१० बिसघरे निवासी १८ वर्षीय आकाश थापालाई धारिलो हतियार प्रहार गरी सख्त घाइते बनाएकामा थापाको उपचारका क्रममा पोखरास्थित मणिपाल अस्पतालमा मृत्यु भएको थियो । मृतक थापालाई जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय अगाडि सात/आठ जनाको समूहले धारिलो हतियार प्रहार गर्दा ढाडमा गहिरो चोट लागेको थियो । घटनामा संलग्न युवामा ब्यास नगरपालिका–१ भादगाउँ र हाइस्कुलटार क्षेत्रका सुरेश थापामगर, कुमार थापा, मनिष चन्द, श्रीविलास चन्द, पृथ्वीवंशी ठकुरी, ऋषि थापा, पदम चन्द, जोनसन थापा र बाबुराम ठकुरी रहेको तनहुँका प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक सुरेन्द्रबहादुर गुरुङले जानकारी दिनुभयो । उहाँका अनुसार पक्राउ परेका नौ जना १५÷१६ वर्षका रहेका र उनीहरुका साथबाट दुई वटा खुकुरी र एक थान चक्कुसमेत बरामद गरिएको छ । उनीहरुलाई शनिबारदेखि नै लागू हुनेगरी तनहुँ जिल्ला अदालतबाट कर्तव्य ज्यान मुद्दामा पहिलो पटक सातदिनको म्याद थप गरी आवश्यक अनुसन्धान कार्य भइरहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । मृतकका परिवारले दोषीलाई कडा कारबाही गरिनुपर्ने माग राखेका छन् । Update........................................... The Tanahun District Court on Friday sent seven teenagers, accused of a murder, to juvenile detention in Sarankot of Kaski district while handed over two children to their parents. The teens are accused of murdering Akash Thapa (18) of Deurali Nagar, Byas Municipality in the district. It was reported that Thapa died in a khukuri attack committed by the suspects in Damauli while returning home on July 29. The children, who are above 14 years and below 16, were sent to the detention by a single bench of district judge Krishna Prasad Sitaula today. They are Suresh Thapa, Shree Bilas Chand, Dil Kumar Shrestha, Manish Chand, Padam Chand, Baburam Thakuri and Prithvi Banshi Thakuri, said Sub-Inspector Manoj Pandey of the District Police Office. Meanwhile, Rishi Thapa of Byas and Johnson Thapa of High School Tar in Tanahun district, who were below 14 years, were handed over to their parents, he added. After Thapa’s death, police had instantly arrested them and begun investigation after filing a murder case. As per the Children’s Act, 1992, children below 14 years involved in any crime could be punished with maximum custody of six month and children above 14 and below 16 years would get half the punishment the adults would get for the same.
