Police have arrested four people for beating 32-year-old Durga Prashad Sigdel, a resident of Shuklagandaki-13. He was beaten by 4 people hired by local contractors when he along with other locals opposed the contractors from extracting sand and stones from Suraudi Khola. He is undergoing treatment in Pokhara.
