An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police was reportedly physically assaulted by a group of youths while he was on duty, in Dang, on Monday. The injured official, Bhagwat Basnet, posted at the Bhalubang Area Police Office, was beaten up by a gang of local youths at Bagdangi of Lalmatiya-8 in the district. ASI Basnet was attacked with a wooden log on his head while he was on a patrol with three other police personnel. He sustained critical injuries in the assault and is currently being treated at a health facility in Butwal. Police said they are searching for locals Sunil Malla, Jhapindra Pandey, Sher Bahadur BK, Amar Khatri and Anil Gharti for their alleged involvement in the attack. शान्तिसुरक्षाका लागि ड्युटीमा खटिएका प्रहरीमाथि आक्रमण भएको छ । दाङको भालुवाङ इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालयमा कार्यरत प्रहरी सहायक निरीक्षक भागवत बस्नेतलाई लालमटिया–८ बागढङीमा स्थानीय युवाको समूहले कुटपिट गरी गम्भीर घाइते बनाएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । सोमबार बस्नेतको कमान्डमा खटिएका चारजनाको प्रहरी टोलीमाथि लुकेर दाउराले प्रहार गरी अगाडि हिँडिरहेका सहायक निरीक्षक बस्नेतमाथि आक्रमण गरेका थिए । टाउकामा गम्भीर चोट लागी घाइते भएका बस्नेतको बुटवलमा उपचार भइरहेको बताएको छ । कुटपिटमा संलग्न लालमटिया–३ बस्ने सुनिल मल्ल, झपिन्द्र पाण्डे, शेरबहादुर विक, अमर खत्री र अनिल घर्ती फरार भएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । त्यसैगरी, सोही समयमा शान्तिसुरक्षाका लागि ड्युटीमा खटाइएका प्रहरी चौकी सिसहनियाका सहायक निरीक्षक यज्ञमणि वैद्यमाथि पनि गोवरडिहा–४ बस्ने श्यामसिंह चौधरी र अम्रेश चौधरीले हातपात गर्न खोजेको र उनीहरुलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिई जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयमा पठाइएको प्रहरी निरीक्षक मदन केसीले जानकारी दिए ।
