The participants at the program organized by Human Rights Support Desk established under INSEC western regional office, Pokhara on the situation of Human Rights Defenders of western region, said that human rights defenders are still at risk. During a discussion program, INSEC western regional coordinator Shiva Khakurel said that human rights defenders are still facing various kinds of threatening. Activist Khaga Raj Acharya said that human rights defenders might have risk as they are supporting TRC and CIED to initiate their investigation process. He added that HR defenders must be aware while working in their field. Senior Human Rights Activist, Tek Nath Baral said that it is very sad to hear that HR defenders are at risk even after the establishment of democracy and added that we should be serious on the security of HR defenders. Secretary Jamuna Sharma of Conflict victim’s society of Kaski said that victims are compelled to live under fearful envirnoment due to the complaint that they have lodged at transitional justice commissions. Vice president Janaki Sharma of Women Human Rights Defenders Network of Kaski said that HR defenders are compelled to work under risky conditions. Chairperson Sarala Kumari Pandey of Human Rights Defender, protection and promotion center said that it is being hard to get information about the human rights situation of detainees in police custody as they are deprived to meet Human Rights Defenders. इन्सेक पश्मिाञ्चल क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय पोखरा अन्तर्गत स्थापित मानव अधिकार रक्षक सहायता डेस्कको आयोजनामा पश्मिाञ्चल क्षेत्रको मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरूको अवस्थाका बारेमा गरिएको छलफलका सहभागीहरूले मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरू अझै जोखिममा रहेको बताएका छन् । छलफलमा इन्सेक पश्मिाञ्चल क्षेत्रीय कार्यालयका संयोजक शिव खकुरेलले विभिन्न जिल्लाहरूमा मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरू माथि विभिन्न खालका धम्कीपूर्ण व्यवहारहरू भइरहेको बताए । अधिकारकर्मी खगराज आचार्यले बेपत्ता पारिएका व्यक्तिको छानबिन र सत्य निरूपण तथा मेलमिलाप आयोगमा थप अनुसन्धानका लागि मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरूले गर्ने सहयोगका कारण थप जोखिम बढनसक्नेतर्फ सचेत रहनु पर्ने बताएका थिए । वरिष्ठ मानव अधिकारकर्मी टेकनाथ बरालले लोकतन्त्र आइसकेपछि पनि मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरू जोखिममा पर्नु र विभिन्न प्रकारका धम्कीपूर्ण व्यवहारहरू सहनु पर्ने अवस्था आउनु दुखद रहेको बताउँदै मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरूको सुरक्षाका लागि सरकार गम्भीर बन्नुपर्ने बताए । न्यायका लागि द्वन्द्वपीडित समाज कास्कीमा सचिव जमुना शर्माले आयोगमा उजुरी दिएको कारण द्वन्द्वपीडित परिवारजनलाई धम्की आउने गरेको अवस्थाले गर्दा पीडितहरू भयपूर्ण वातावरणमा बस्नुपरेको बताइन् । महिला मानव अधिकार रक्षक सञ्जालकी उपाध्यक्ष जानकी शर्माले महिला मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरू सबैभन्दा बढी जोखिमपूर्ण अवस्थामा काम गर्न बाध्य रहेको बताइन् । मानव अधिकार रक्षक, संरक्षण तथा प्रवर्धन केन्द्रकी अध्यक्ष सरला कुमारी पाण्डेले प्रहरी हिरासतमा रहेका थुनुवाहरूलाई मानव अधिकार रक्षकहरूसँग भेटघाट गर्नबाट वञ्चित गरिएका अवस्थाले गर्दा थुनुवाहरूको मानव अधिकारको अवस्था बारे जानकारी लिन असहज भएको बताइन् ।
