मानवअधिकार संरक्षण सञ्जाल रामेछापले सदरमुकाम मन्थलीका होटलहरूमा बालमजदुरको प्रयोग बढेको भन्दै जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिका अध्यक्ष एवं प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारीको ध्यानाकर्षण गराएको छ । अनौपचारिक क्षेत्र सेवा केन्द्र (इन्सेक) सँग आबद्ध रहेको सञ्जालले ०६९ चैत ४ गते प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी गोपालप्रसाद पराजुलीलाई ध्यानाकर्षण पत्र बुझाउँदै त्यस क्षेत्रमा कदम चाल्न अनुरोध गरेको हो ।

ध्यानाकर्षण पत्रमा १६ वर्षभन्दा कम उमेरका बालबालिकाहरूलाई होटलमा श्रमिकको रूपमा काम लगाउनु कानुन विपरित हुने भएकोले त्यस्ता कार्यको अनुगमन गरी बालश्रम प्रयोग गर्ने कार्यलाई दुरूत्साहित गर्दै कम्तीमा पनि बालबालिकाहरूको पढ्न पाउने अधिकारको सुनिश्चितताको लागि सञ्जाल र सञ्जालमा आबद्ध १० संस्थाहरूको तर्फबाट जिल्ला बालकल्याण समिति रामेछापको ध्यानाकर्षण गराएको उल्लेख गरिएको छ ।

यसकासाथै जिविस र गाविसले बालबालिकाको शिर्षमा छुट्याएको रकम बालबालिकाको विकासमा भन्दा पनि भौतिक पूर्वाधार निर्माणमा खर्च भएको पाइएकोले त्यसप्रति समेत सञ्जालले प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारीको ध्यानाकर्षण गराएको छ । ध्यानाकर्षण पत्र बुझाउन सञ्जालका सदस्यहरूकासाथै गैसस महासङ्घका अध्यक्ष विरेन्द्र श्रेष्ठ र रामेछापका बारका अध्यक्ष विचारसिंह दोङ लगायत जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालयमा पुगेका थिए ।

ध्यानाकर्षण पत्र सञ्जालका संयोजक पाण्डव प्रसाइँले प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारीलाई सो ध्यानाकर्षा पत्र बुझाएका थिए । पत्र बुझ्दै प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारीले नागरिकको तहबाट आएको गम्भीर सवालमा तत्काल कदम चाल्ने बताए ।

Human Rights Protection Network, Ramechhap has drawn the attention of CDO who is also the president the District Child Welfare Committee over the increasing trend of use of child labor in hotels of Manthali. The network of which INSEC is also a part presented the letter of attention to the CDO and urged him to take step to control the child labor.

 

More than 10 organizations working in the district for the welfare of child drew the attention of Child welfare committee of the district, stating that the child labor is against the law and the concerned authority must establish the monitoring mechanism in order to discourage the child labor and to ensure their right to education.

 

Similarly, the attention of CDO has been drawn towards the use of the budget allocated by the District Development Committee and VDC for children in the physical infrastructure rather than the development of the children. In order to handover the attention letter, Birendra Shrestha, president of NGO Federation and Bichar Singh Dong, President of Bar Association, Ramechhap, including many other members were presented in the District Administration office.

 

Accepting the letter, the CDO said that the immediate action would be taken towards the serious concern raised by the civilians.
