कपिलवस्तु नपा-२ का ४५ वर्षीय प्रभु सिहंविरुद्ध पत्नी ४० वर्षीया कुमारी थापाले ०६९ चैत ६ गते जिल्ला अदालतमा घरेलु हिंसाको मुद्दा दर्ता गरेकी छन् ।

 

पतिले आफूलाई शारिरिक, मानसिक तथा आर्थिक रुपमा हिंसा गरेको भन्दै एड्भोकेसी फोरमको कानुनी सहायतामा प्रहरी, प्रशासनमा नगई सोझै अदालतमा मुद्दा दर्ता गरेकी हुन् । घरमा आफुलाई बस्ने बातावरण तथा आर्थिक, सामाजिक रुपले समेत विगत वर्षदेखि हिंसा खेप्नु परेकोले माइतमै बस्दै आएकोमा अधिकार र न्यायको खोजीमा अदालतमा पुगेको उनले बताइन् ।

 

घरेलु हिंसाका अधिकाशं घटना प्रहरीमा उजुरी पर्ने र प्रहरीमै मिलापत्र हुने गरेकोमा यस वर्षपहिलो पटक घरेलु हिंसाको मुद्दा प्रहरीमा नगई अदालतमा परेको हो ।

A 40-year-old Kumari Thapa has registered a case of domestic violence against her husband Prabhu Singh, 45, of KapilvastuN.P.2 at District Court on March 19.

 

Accusing her husband of torturing her physically and mentally, Thapa registered the case with the help of Advocacy Forum Nepal and police administration. She said that she has been tolerating the violence for a long time and was compelled to knock the court’s door for the justice. 

 

Most of the domestic violence cases are registered at police stations and resolved after compromised between the two sides. This is the first case where the complaint was directly registered at the court without being filed at the police station.
