A 15-year-old Anish Gautam of standard 10 at Bharati Bhawan Secondary School was punished by his teachers on September 7 for not cutting hair. The victim’s mother Parbati Gautam complained that he was beaten by his teachers. She complained in a program organized to mark national children day that teacher Min Raj Dhungana, Basu Tiwari, Dharma Datta Adhikari and Principal Govinda Kafle had beaten her son on September 7. The district child welfare committee’s member Rabi Raj Basaula said that it is very sad to hear about such punishment which is condemn able. Rama Kanta Sharma, district education officer, said that it is necessary to follow discipline however giving a corporal punishment is condemn able. He added that the school will be cautioned about the incident. पुरन्चौरको भारतिभवन माविमा कक्षा १० मा अध्यनरत १५ वर्षीय अनिष गौतमलाई सोही विद्यालयका शिक्षकहरूले कपाल पालेको आरोपमा भदौ २२ गते कुटपिट गरेको पीडित बालककी आमा पार्वती गौतमले आरोप लगाएकी छन् । शिक्षक मिनराज ढुङ्गाना, बासु तिवारी, धर्मदत्त अधिकारी र प्रधानाध्यापक गोविन्द काफ्लेले कपाल पालेको आरोपमा भदौ २२ गते कुटपिट गरेको भएपनि पार्वती गौतमले राष्ट्रिय बाल दिवसका दिन भदौ २९ गते एक कार्यक्रममा उक्त आरोप लगाएकी हुन् । ‘शिक्षक ढुङ्गानाले कपाल किन पालेको ? भन्दै सोधपुछ गर्दा अनिषले भोलि काटेर आउने जबाफ फर्काए पनि हप्काउँदै कुटपिट गरेछन् ।’–पार्वती गौतमले बताइन् । घटनाबारे पीडित बालकले घरमा पुगेर भनेपछि प्रधानध्यापक गोविन्द काफ्लेले भनेको कुरा पार्वतीले यसरी सुनाइन्–‘जे भयो भयो अब यो घटनालाइ बाहिर नलैजानुहोस् । हामी कुटपिट गर्ने शिक्षकलाई कारबाही गर्छौ । पीडित बालकको सम्पूर्ण उपचार खर्च तथा मासिक फिसमेत मिनाह गरिदिन्छौ ।’ विद्यार्थीलाई कुटपिट गरेको घटना खेदजनक रहेको जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिका सदस्य रविराज वसौलाले बताए । विद्यालयले विद्यार्थीको अनुशासन कायम राख्न जरुरी भएपनि कुटपिट गर्न नहुने र भारतिभवन माविमा भएको घटना सम्बन्धमा आफूले बुझेर विद्यालय प्रशासनलाइ सचेत गराउने जिल्ला शिक्षा अधिकारी रमाकान्त शर्माले बताए ।
