महिला हिंसाका विभिन्न घटनाहरूमा सुनुवाईका लागि शीघ्र कारबाही अदालत (फास्टट्रयाक कोर्ट) जतिसक्दो चाँडो सञ्चालनमा ल्याउन सरोकारवालाहरूले माग गरेका छन् ।

 

कानून व्यवसायी महिला केन्द्र सर्वोच्च अदालत बार एसोसिएसनले ०६९ चैत ९ गते गरेको एक अन्तरक्रियामा सहभागीहरूले पछिल्लो समयमा बढ्दो क्रममा रहेको महिला हिंसा न्यूनीकरणका लागि नियमित अदालतबाहेकको वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था गर्न माग गरेका हुन् ।

 

कानून व्यवसायीहरूले हाल सञ्चालनमा रहेको बाल इजलासमा मुद्दाको चाप नभएका कारण महिला हिंसाका मुद्दाको सुनवाइका लागि प्रयोग गर्ने विकल्प समेत प्रस्तुत गरेका थिए ।

 

कानून व्यवसायीहरूले अदालतमा विचाराधीन मुद्दाहरूको निरन्तर सुनुवाइ गरेर पनि महिला हिंसाका घटनाहरूको टुङ्गो लगाउन सकिने विकल्प पनि प्रस्तुत गरेका थिए ।

 

सर्वोच्च अदालतले समेत शीघ्र कारबाही अदालतको व्यवस्था गर्न आदेश दिइसकेको अवस्थामा यो प्रक्रिया अगाडि बढ्न नसके पनि वैकल्पिक व्यवस्थाका विषयमा भने सोच्नैपर्ने अवस्था आएको नेपाल बार एसोसिएसनकी निर्वतमान केन्द्रीय सदस्य शान्ता सेढाइले बताइन् । उनले महिलालाई हेरिने मानसिकतामा परिवर्तन ल्याउन सके धेरै हदसम्म महिला हिंसाका घटना न्यूनीकरण गर्न सकिने बताइन् ।

The participants at a program have demanded for immediate set up of fast track court for cases of violence against women.

 

Speaking at a program organized by Legal Practitioners Women Centre of SC Bar Association on March 22, they called for alternatives to regular courts for minimization of violence against women.

 

They proposed use of existing juvenile benches as fast tract court for VAW as there was low pressure on such benches.

 

The continuous hearing on cases under consideration was also offered as an alternative for conclusion of cases of VAW.

 

Former central member of the NBA, Shanta Sedai said that time had come to think seriously about the fast track court at a moment when even the SC had directed for its establishment. She added that change in perception towards women could reduce the VAW cases to a large extent.
