UCPN-M cadres have captured the minute of the village council of Khunga VDC on December 19.

VDC Secretary Anand Prasad Sharma said that the UCPN-M cadres took away the documents including the minute from the VDC office at around 1 pm. "Though there was a minor dispute at the council meeting regarding road construction, the council meeting ended unanimously and a declaration was also adopted, around 60 cadres led by UCPN-M representative Bal Bahadur Sirpali grabbed the minute," Sharma said.

According to Sharma, Sirpali had exerted pressure to construct the road in front of his house while others had agreed to take the road in front of the VDC office. They also took away the documents of Bhanubhakta Kandel, community mobiliser of Dhalagiri Development Centre.

Sirpali could not be contacted for comments.

UCPN-M Stones RJM Cadres, Four Injured

Four Rastriya Jana Morcha (RJM) cadres have been injured after UCPN-M cadres pelted stones at them over the dispute on VDC council's minute capture by UCPN-M. RJM cadres Gan Bahadur Phagami, Hemlal Phagami of Khunga7, Rajesh Chhantyal and Indraman Chhantyal of ward no. 9 were injured in the incident, RJM district chairperson Amar Thapa said. Thapa informed that they were treated at the Khunga sub-health post in Chhoregaun. All of them received 10-20 stitches in their head, Thapa added.

Meanwhile, UCPN-M Baglung said that RJM cadres beat its cadres at their homes on December 19. Saying that UCPN-M cadres protested after RJM tried to monopolize the VDC council of Khunga, UCPN-M district secretary Tek Bahadur KC said that RJM cadres led by Tilak Pun beat up Harkjit BK, Tek Bahadur BK and Kul Bahadur BK. Issuing a press statement on December 20, UCPN-M has demanded treatment to the injured cadres, compensation and action against culprits.

The district police office has said that both sides were called for a meeting.
