The District Development Committee, Saptari today called off a meeting held to review the work performance of offices under the DDC in the last fiscal due to obstruction by local political leaders. Before the meeting began, there was a heated discussion for two hours after the political party representatives claimed that the DDC had not provided them with the details of the offices under its jurisdiction. The party leaders said they were also excluded by different government offices in the district. Local Development Officer Sudev Kumar Pokhrel said the meeting had to be called off after representatives of various political parties shouted slogans and disrupted the gathering. Pokhrel said the review meeting was rescheduled for November 25. The party leaders had earlier asked time to study the work details of various government offices.
