Madhes, Rautahat, Gaur

Leaders and cadres of Madhesi parties protested the former Prime Minister and leader of CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, greeting him with black flags here in his hometown Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, on Tuesday. Tension ran high in the premises of District Development Committee, where Nepal had gone to attend a meeting, after the UML cadres and the protesters got engaged in fracas amid sloganeering against the leader. Security personnel intervened and arrested 11 protesters. Members of Parliament elected from Rautahat had gathered to hold a meeting for the selection of infrastructure development projects in his constituency at the DDC building. The meeting, however, was put off after Dimple Jha, who was elected to the Parliament through proportional representation, walked out of it. According to police, Nepal has left the district for Kathmandu today itself.
