People of Dalit community were reportedly barred from attending a religious function held at Lauthi village of Kalika VDC in Humla on December 1. Bhim Bahadur Pariyar, a resident of Shrinagar said that the people of the so called upper-caste had barred Dalits from participating in the religious function held to collectively perform wedding, bratabandha of the local children. Chief District Officer Dr Krishna Bahadur Ghimire said that it was inhumane to bar the Dalit community from performing bratabandha rite of their children in the religious function. He further added that he would take legal actions after further investigation.
