डोटी । चैत २६ गते पत्नीलाई कुटपिट गरी हिंसा गरेको आरोपमा कानुन व्यवसायी रणबहादुर सिंहलाई ०६९ चैत २४ गते प्रहरीले गिरफ्तार गरी हिरासतमा राखेको छ । बझाङ जिल्ला घर भई हाल दिपायल सिलगढी नपा - ४ बस्दै आएका कानून व्यवसायी रणबहादुर सिंहले पत्नी पद्मा थापालाई कुटपिट गर्ने गरेको छिमेकी प्राध्यापक डण्डीराज ओझाले बताए । कानून व्यवसायी रणबहादुर सिंहले ०६९ चैत २४ गते राती पत्नी पद्मा थापालाई कुटपिट गर्दै गरेको समयमा प्राध्यापक राजेन्द्र भट्टले वचाउ गर्न खोज्दा भट्टलाई समेत गालीगलौज गरी कुटपिट गरेपछि उनले प्रहरीलाई जानकारी गराएका थिए । लामो समयदेखि कुटपिटमा संलग्न रहेका सिंहले यसअघि पनि पटक पटक पत्नीलाई मरणासन्न हुने गरी कुटपिट गर्दै आएको छिमेकी प्राध्यापक डण्डीराज ओझाले बताए । पीडित पद्मा थापा डोटी क्याम्पस डोटीमा अध्यापनरत छन् भने रणबहादुर सिंह नेपाल बार एशोसिएसनका निवर्तमान उपाध्यक्ष हुन् । लबदेब भट्ट Doti/ April 8

Rana Bahadur Singh, a legal practioner has been taken into police custody on April 6 on charge of beating his wife.

Rana Bahadur, a permanent resident of Bajhang District and currently living in Dipayal SilgadhiN.P.4 had been beating his wife Padma Thapa, according to his neighbor and professor Dhundi Raj Ojha.

Singh had beaten and mistreated Professor Rajendra Bhatt when the latter tried to stop him from beating his wife on the night of April 6. He has been beating and tormenting his wife since a long time, said Professor Ojha.

The victim teaches in Doti Campus whereas Singh is the former vice president of Nepal Bar Association.
