German Parliamentarians Meet Conflict Victims

INSEC Kavre representative Bhojraj Timalsina briefed the team about Nepal's armed conflict and current peace process.

Purni Maya Lama, whose husband Arjun Lama was killed by the UCPN-M during the conflict and Sabitri Ghimire, whose son Prakash Ghimire was made to disappear by the security personnel informed the team about the incidents. Durga Shrestha, wife of Sagun Shrestha who was made to disappear during the conflict; Gita Rasaili, sister of Reena Rasaili; Gyan Devi Bolakhe, wife of Hari Bolakhe; Man Kumari Ranji, wife of Rajbhai Rnajit who was made to disappear by the UCPN-M; and Ashwin Chaulagain, who was displaced by the UCPN-M shared about their experiences to the team.

Matina Schuster, Avgelika Graf, Ullrich Mobrner, Micael Brand were in the team of the German Parliamentarian. They also inquired sought information about the situation of human rights defenders.

Executive Director of INSEC Bijay Raj Gautam, INSEC Mid-regional coordinator Krishna Gautam and Prashannati Wasti of INSEC central office had facilitated the program.
