Central member of the CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal, Santosh Budhathoki, survived a khukuri attack in Kohalpur of Banke district on Thursday night. The Kohalpur Area Police Post said Budhathoki was seriously injured in the attack and was rushed to the nearby Kohalpur Medical College. Later, he has been referred to Lucknow of India for further treatment. An unidentified gang had targeted Budhathoki near the Bidyut Road in Kohalpur-10. Meanwhile, police are searching for the assailants and are furthering investing into the case. Digbijaya Jung Rana, secretary of Tarun Dal Banke Area Number 1 has been arrested for the Khukuri attack on Youth Association's central member Santosh Budathoki. Police said that even though Laxman Malla attacked him with Khukuri, Rana was the main planner of the attack. On the basis of Malla's statement, Police arrested Rana and the vice-president of Samshergunj Village Committee Gyan Bahadur Thapa. Thapa, Malla and Budathoki attacked Budathoki on December 29. Budathoki was immediately taken to Lucknow when he couldn't be treated in Banke. Immediately after the attack, Budathoki was taken to Dhakeri, 10 km far from that place. 2 people along with 2 motorcycles and car have been taken control by the police. CBI arrested Malla while he was hiding in Kathmandu. The culprits were made public after the press release. युवा संघ केन्दीय सदस्यलाई खुकुरी हान्ने लक्ष्मण मल्ल सार्वजानिक । युवा संघ केन्दीय सदस्य सन्तोष बुढाथोकीमाथि खुकुरी प्रहार गरी फरार भएका मुख्य आरोपी लक्ष्मण मल्ललाई प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरी मंगलबार सार्वजानिक गरेको छ । कोहलपुर इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालयले मंगलबार गरेको पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा खुकुरी प्रहार गर्ने बाजुरा रुगिन गाविस १ घर भई हाल कोहलपुर नगरपालिका –१० बस्ने १९ वर्षीय लक्ष्मण मल्ललाई सार्वजानिक गरेको हो । फरार मल्ललाई प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरी सार्वजानिक गरेको हो । ‘खुकुरी प्रहार भएको २५ मिनेटपछि मात्रै हामीलाई घटनाबारे थाहा भयो । प्रमुख प्रहरी नायव उपरीक्षक सुरेशप्रसाद काफ्लेले भने । ’ घाइतेसँग तत्कालै लिइएको बयानअनुसार हामीले फरार मल्लको खोजी र घटनाको अनुसन्धान थालेका हौँ । घटना भएको १० दिनपछि आरोपी मल्ललाई पुष २३ गते काठमाडौँबाट प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरेको थियो । घटनापछि १७ गते मुख्य आरोपी मल्ल भाग्न प्रयोग गरिएको अनटेष्ट सुजुकी जिक्सर बाइक र २१ गते घटनामा प्रयोग भएको खुकुरी महादेवपुरी –५ ढकेरीमा बरामत भयो । काफ् लेले भने ‘सोही दिन आरोपी फरार भएको बा १ ४ च ४७९ नं को कार पनि बरामत भएकाले फरार अभियुक्त पक्राउ गर्न प्रहरी सफल भएको हो ।’ खुकुरी प्रहारमा अन्य व्यक्तिको पनि संलग्नता रहेको हुन सक्ने भन्दै घटनाबारे थप अनुसन्धान भइरहेको बाँकेका प्रहरी प्रमुख एसपी टेकप्रसाद राईले जानकारी दिए । घटनाबारे अनुसन्धानका लागि प्रहरीले थप ११ जनालाई हिरासतमा लिएको जनाएको छ । घाइते बुढाथेकीको भारतको लखनाउमा उपचार भइरहेको छ ।
