There has been lathi charge in the Maaghi Mela in Thakur Dwaar temple in Bardiya. The lathi charge broke out when police tried to get control of the situation. Durga KC, owner of Durga Tent House was beaten up by the police. Locals have blamed that police forcefully tried to collect ransom from the locals, because of which the locals became furious. The Maaghi festival that usually lasts for a week got cancelled because of the infamous incident. 12 people have been injured and 5 people have been arrested. Police have been investigating further about the case. बर्दियाको ठाकुरद्वार स्थित ठाकुरबाबा मन्दिर परिसरमा लगाइएको माघी मेलामा प्रहरीले लाठिचार्ज गरेको छ। मेलामा स्टल राखेको स्थानिय व्यापारीलाई प्रहरीले कुटपिट गरेपछि आक्रोशित व्यवसायीको भिडलाइ नियन्त्रणमा लिन प्रहरीले लाठिचार्ज गरेको हो। प्रहरीले दुर्गा टेन्ट हाउसका संचालक दुर्गा जैसीलाइ कुटपिट गरेपछि भएको प्रहरी-व्यवसायी झडपमा १२ जना घाइते भएका छन्। प्रहरीले मेलामा व्यवसायीहरु बाट पैसा असुली गरेकोसम्बन्धमा खिन्न र असन्तुष्ट व्यवसायीसंग पत्रकारले प्रतिक्रिया लिएको थाहा पाएर आक्रोशित बनेका प्रहरीले पत्रकार खोज्ने क्रममा व्यापारी माथि कुटपिट गरेको स्थानियको आरोप छ। एक साता सम्म चल्ने माघी मेला प्रहरीको लाठीचार्ज घटनापछि मंगलबार देखि स्थगन गरिएको छ। मेलाबाट ५ जनालाइ नियन्त्रणमा लिएको प्रहरी उपरीक्षक राजेन्द्र खडकाले बताउनु भयो। घटना बारे छानबिन भैरहेको र त्यसबाट वास्तविकता थाहा हुने उपरीक्षक खड्काले जानकारी दिनु भयो।
