Interaction on Outcomes of UPR and Strategies Held

One-day regional interaction program on Outcomes of Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and Strategies for Follow-up has been held in Nepalgunj on December 23.

 

In the program jointly organized by Nepali NGO Coalition for UPR, Durban Review Conference Follow-up Committee and Women Network for UPR, INSEC mid-western regional coordinator Bhola Mahat has conducted the program and welcomed facilitators and participants. Baburam Gautam, executive director of Women Rehabilitation Centre had shed light on the objectives of the program.

 

Various issues including UPR, its new development, commitment of the government, concerns of other nations, future plan of the government to implement its commitments and role of NGOs in next UPR were discussed on the occasion.

 

Senior officer of INSEC Samjha Shrestha, Durban Review Conference Follow-up Committee member Hom Yamphu, Baburam Gautam of Women Rehabilitation Centre had facilitated the program which was attended by human rights activists, legal practitioners, mediapersons and conflict victims.
