Police have arrested a middle-aged man involved in murdering a thirty-year-old woman on Saturday for reportedly refusing to have sex with him. The incident came to light after the police in Khotang district arrested the alleged murderer on Monday, five hours after identifying the body of the woman dumped on a riverside in Bhojpur district. Preliminary investigation of the police has found that Rohin Karki, 40, of Chisapani in Khotnag district killed Sumina Mahat of Kodar, Bjojpur after she rejected his proposal to have sex. According to the police, the accused has accepted his involvement in the crime. The two were having a clandestine relationship which is evident from the conversation between the couple over mobile phone and email, according to the police. “As per the statement of the arrested, he actually wanted to take her to his home to have sex with her. But when the women disagreed to do so, she was murdered by the man in a fit of anger,” said DSP Nabin Kishor Pradhan of District Police Office, Khotang. Police suspect that the dispute between the two went on for a long time as the slippers of the woman were found at two different places. Police quoted Karki as saying that he took out a Bhojpuri Khukuri knife from the woman's bag and killed her when she did not comply with his request. Mahat had left her home last Wednesday telling her parents that she was going to Itahari. Her body was found on the confluence of Kaverkhola at Dambarkhushivalaya of Bhojpur on Saturday. Police identified the body only on Monday and was able to arrest Karki within hours. He was arrested with the jwelleries of the deceased and had had blood stains on his clothes. According to DSP Pradhan, the accused had thrown the clothes and mobile phone of Mahat in the river after murdering her. According the police, the deceased woman was unmarried and the murder accused, who had returned from Qatar, is married. He had reached Bhojpur to pick up the woman. Her family members were not aware about her relation with Karki. यौन सम्पर्कको प्रस्तावलाई अस्वीकार गर्दा भोजपुर नगरपालिका–७ कोदारकी ३० वर्षीया सुमिना महतको हत्या भएको छ। युवती हत्यामा संलग्न भएको अभियोगमा खोटाङको चिसापानी–४ का ४० वर्षीय रोहिन कार्की पक्राउ परेपछि घटनाको सहस्या खुलेको हो। हुलियाका आधारमा सोमबार पक्राउ परेका कार्कीले प्रारम्भिक अनुसन्धानका क्रममा यौन सम्पर्क राख्न गरेको प्रस्तावलाई अस्वीकार गर्दा युवतीको हत्या गरेको बताएको प्रहरी भनाई छ । ‘प्रारम्भिक सोधपुछकाक्रममा उसले शारीरिक सम्बन्ध राख्न नमान्दा हत्या गरेको बयान दिएको छ,’ जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय खोटाङका डिएसपी नबिनकिशोर प्रधानले भने, ‘अर्को बयानमा भने घर युवतीलाई लैजाने÷नलैजाने भन्ने विषयमा झगडा हुँदा घटना भएको बताएको छ।’ प्रहरीका अनुशार उनीहरुबीच विवाद उत्कर्षमा पुगेपछि कार्कीले युवतीको लेडिज व्यागमै रहेको ‘भोजपुर’ लेखिएको खुकुरी प्रयोग गरेर हत्या गरेको स्वीकारेका छन्। गत बुधबार घरबाट हिँडेकी सुमिनाको खोटाङको डम्बर्खुशिवालय–१ स्थित काभ्रेखोलाको दोभानमा शनिबार दिउँसो शव भेटिएको थियो। खोलाको गहिरो खोँचमा घोप्टो परेर लडिरहेको अवस्थामा फेला परेको बिभत्स शव सोधखोजका क्रममा सुमिनाको भएको पुष्टि भएको ५ घण्टा नबित्दै प्रहरीले कार्कीलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएको हो। मृतकको गरगहना तथा रगत लागेको कपडा सहित पक्राउ परेका कार्कीले घटनालाई स्वीकार गरिसकेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ। प्रधानका अनुसार उनले युवतीको कपडा खोलामा बगाइदिएको, मोबाइल फालिदिएको बताएका छन्। घटनास्थलमा युवतीको चप्पल फरक– फरक स्थानमा भेटिनुले उनीहरुबिच लामो समयसम्म झगडा भएको अनुमान गरिएको छ। मृतक युवती अबिवाहित हुन्। लामो समयसम्म कतार बसेर आएका कार्की भने बिवाहित हुन्। उनले युवती लिन भोजपुर पुगेको र डम्बर्खु शिवालयसम्म ल्याएको प्रहरी समक्ष बयान दिएका छन्। सुमिनाको सोमबार बिहान मात्र पहिचान भएको थियो। घरबाट हिँडेकी सुमिनाले परिवारलाई ‘ईटहरी जाँदै गरेको’ जानकारी गराएकी थिइन्। कार्की र महतबीच लामो समयदेखि मोबाइल र इमोबाट सम्पर्क बढेको खुलेको छ। उनीहरुको सम्बन्धका बिषयमा परिवारलाई समेत जानकारी थिएन। परिवारका अनुसार मृतक सुमिना सोझी स्वभावकी थिइन्।
