Bandh Enforced Blaming Police Ignorance

Normal life has been affected as locals of Belha VDC enforced district headquarters bandh stating that a minor boy was killed by robbers due to ignorance of police on December 22. Markets and transportation service remained closed in Siraha bazaar due to the bandh.

 

According to Belha locals, Suresh Sah, 14, son of Jogindra Sah, of Belha6 was killed when the looters opened fired at him. They blamed that the Belha Area Police Office (APO) did not act  though they informed it on time when the incident took place on December 21.

 

Chandan Sah, 7, Chandani Sah, 12, Pramod Sah, 20 and Gitadevi Sah, 27 were injured when the looters detonated a bomb while Bishwonath Sah, 45 was injured when the robbers attacked him with a sharp weapon, locals informed.

 

Though the incident site lies some 200 meters from the APO , police reached the site two hours later, locals said, adding that a group of police personnel led by Ganesh Das, in-charge of the Belha APO arrived in the site and fired four rounds in the air.

 

SP Rajesh Kumar Lal Karna said all police personnel of Belha APO have been summoned to the District Police Office and investigation has been initiated in connection to the incident. "If they were found guilty, we will recommend the Home Ministry to take action against them as per legal provision," he added.

 

Meanwhile, family of the victim has said that it will not collect the dead body until compensation was provided and action was taken against the guilty.
