The family of 7-year-old Dalit girl, a victim of sexual violence, of Siraha Municipality-4 is facing financial problem for the girl's treatment.

The girl was raped over a year ago which left her badly injured and problem in defecation. The family said that the stool was being defecated from two places though the girl was operated.

Raj Kumar Das, of Siraha Municipality-4 is accused of raping the girl in a sesame field on November 2, 2010. Das remains at large. The family said when they went to the police to follow up, they were told to search Das and then inform the police.

The girl's family said they were not able to take the girl to hospital again as they were just daily wage earners and that it was possible for them to go on looking for the accused.

Soon after the incident, the treatment at BPKIHS was supported by INSEC, Himrights, WOREC and Human Rights Protection Network.

INSEC, Siraha has provided Rs 5,000 to the girl in need of treatment after suffering from serious medical problem after rape last year.

The 7-year-old dailt girl is not being taken to the hospital because the family cannot afford it. INSEC's Siraha DR handed over the money to the girl's father. HimRights and journalists Dilip Singh and Baijanath also provided support to the girl's family.

The girl was raped on November 2, 2010 allegedly by local Raj Kumar Das who remains at large since then.
