The general strike called by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) to protest the Saptari incident has affected normal life in eastern Nepal. Public vehicles have stayed off the roads from early morning hours while educational institutes have shutdown along with factories. A huge number of UDMF cadres have poured into the streets in southern part of Biratnagar. The strike enforcers torched a motorbike at Duhabi of Sunsari. The District Police Office, Morang has said there have not been any untoward incidents in Morang. RSS
