The human rights defenders of the district have demanded action against the people accused of beating a dalit man to death for touching the cooking stove in Kalikot.

A rally was also organized in the district headquarters Mangalsain on December 25 in which the human rights defenders along with the political parties participated.

Speaking at the corner meeting, the local political leaders demanded action for the killers of Man Bahadur Sunar.  

UCPN-M leader Sher Bahadur BK warned that continual discrimination against the dalits might invite another rebellion while NC's Muna Bhandari accused the UCPN-M people of being involved in the killing.
