Dhading/May 3 District reporter for Sagarmatha Television and news bureau chief of Radio Loktantra Manish Duwadi has been threatened with life on phone on May 1. Duwadi said the caller was unhappy with the news aired regarding the detained armed men made public by the District Police Office who were arrested in Maidi VDC on April 28. The called was rececived at 20.11 on May 1 from the phone number 012020994 issuing life threats and torching the radio station. Acting Director of Radio Loktantra, Deepak Koirala issued a statement on May 2 condemning the incident. Meanwhile, in Banke, the staffs of Higher Secondary Education Board on May 3 have threatened to beat up journalist and Mission Today daily’s publisher Binod Paudel and Nagarik reporter and Radio Pratibodh FM news coordinator Tekenkra Basyal in relation to the publication of news a day earlier. They were unhappy about the press photo published in Nagarik daily and Mission Today daily on May 2 about the staffs falling aspleep at their workplace. Basyal said HSEB staff Devendra Shahi made the call threatening to beat them up.
