Udaypur/May 12 A case of rape attempt has been settled after pressuring the victim to accept money. A 33-year-old woman had filed a complaint against forest guard Kaji Khadka, 35, of Mainamaini Range Post under the District Forest Office at the Area Police Office (APO) Rampur on May 10 accusing him of trying to rape her. According to the victim, Khadka had tried to rape her on May 9 after giving her a lift in his motorbike while returning home from Sombare. A local Sameer Rai of Rampur said that locals rescued her after hearing her scream in the Machhapuchre Community Forest. The victim was pressured to settle the case by accepting 50 thousand rupees in a discussion on May 11, it has been learnt. Some locals expressed dissatisfaction against the settlement saying that the case was settled in pressure though the victim had presented the evidence that the accused had injury in his hand when she bit him in retaliation. Human Rights activists have said that the settlement is against the law and would protect impunity. Kushal Babu Basnet उदयपुर । वैशाख २९ गते उदयपुरकी ३३ वर्षीया एक महिलाले आफूलाई बन कार्यालयका एक कर्मचारीले बलात्कार गर्ने प्रयास गरेको भन्दै ०७० वैशाख २७ गते ईलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय रामपुरमा जाहेरी दिएपनि दबाबमा पीडितलाई केही रकम दिएर मिलापत्र गराइएको छ । जिल्लाको मैनामैनी गाविसस्थित सोमबारेबाट घरतर्फआउने क्रममा मोटरसाइकलमा लिफ्ट दिएका सप्तरी जिल्लाको फत्तेपुर गाविस ३ घर भई जिल्ला वन कार्यलय मातहतको मैनामैनी रेन्जपोष्टमा कार्यरत वन रक्षक ३५ वर्षीय काजी खड्काले ०७० वैशाख २६ गते राति करिब ८ बजे बलात्कार प्रयास गरेको पीडितले बताएकी थिइन् । रामपुर गाविसमा पर्ने माछापुच्छ्रे सामुदायिक वन उपभोक्ता समूहको जंगलमा सडकबाट मोटरसाइकल जंगलतर्फलगी बलात्कार प्रयास गर्दा पीडितले प्रतिकार गरेर चिच्याएपछि बाटोमा हिडदै गरेका स्थानीय युवाहरूले उनलाई उद्धार गरेको रामपुरका स्थानीय युवा समीर राईले बताए । जाहेरीपछि रामपुरमा वैशाख २८ गते भएको छलफलमा पीडितलाई दवाव दिएर ५० हजार रकम दिएर मिलापत्र गराएको जनाइएको छ । मिलापत्रका लागि १ लाख रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी रकम आरोपित खड्काले दिएको भएपनि अन्य रकम मिलापत्र गराउने बिचौलियाले लिएको हुन सक्ने जनाइएको छ । बलात्कार गर्न खोजेपछि पीडितले प्रतिकार गरी हातमा टोकेका कारण आरोपित खड्काको हातमा चोट समेत लागेको प्रमाण पीडितले छलफलमा व्यक्त गरेपनि दवावका भरमा मिलापत्र गराएको भन्दै केही स्थानीयले असन्तुष्टि जनाएका छन् । दण्डहीनतालाई प्रश्रय दिने गरी यस्ता प्रकारका घटनामा पनि मिलापत्र गराउनु कानुन विपरीत र नाजायज भएको मानवअधिकारकर्मीहरूको भनाइ छ । कुशलबाबु बस्नेत
