Unidentified people carried out an arson attack on the premises of the Dhobighat-based Assumption Church, the Assumption Church claimed. Earlier, it was reported that it was an incident of fire. In a statement, the Catholic church said two motorcycles and a four-wheeler were completely destroyed in the arson. Likewise, the priest’s quarters and the church’s western entrance were also affected, the church said, expressing grief over the incident. It further expressed its belief that the government will launch a fair investigation into the incident. Earlier in 2009, two people were killed in a bomb attack at the same church.
