Sindhupalchok/May 10 Susmita Shrestha, 25, of Kubinde VDC-2 has been beaten and tortured by her husband Ekan Bahadur Shrestha, 38, on May 9 on charge of giving a birth to a girl. The complaint has been lodged by the victim’s sister Dudh Laxmi Shrestha at District Police Office on May 10 against the accused on charge of beating Susmita who was just 11 days postpartum. According to Dudh laxmi, the accused was being constantly torturing and beating her sister since she gave a birth to a baby girl. She further said that the accused recently beat her with an intention of killing her. She said that he sister was not in condition to walk and she has to come to register the complaint instead. The police team was sent in the incident site to arrest the accused, according to Santa Lal Moktan of Women and Children Service Centre.
