Lalitpur/May 19 The distribution of Rajdhani daily has been disrupted on May 19 following the agitation by the workers of the daily’s publishing house, Utsarg Prakashan. The workers, affiliated to All Nepal Workers Association’s Rajdhani unit, are demanding for permanent appointment to any worker working for a minimum of 240 days, provision of minimum wage and implementation of Labor Act and Working Journalists Act and other two points. The workers were on sit-in on the main gate of the daily at Kupondole from early morning carrying the Sunday edition of the newspaper. Meanwhile, the journalists at the daily have drawn the attention of the Minister of Communication Madhav Prasad Poudel protesting the disruption. Giving assurance to the journalists, Minister Poudel said the workers’ act had not only stifled press freedom but also the people’s rights. He added that the government would not protect anyone attacking the press further saying that Poudel said that a legal action would be immediately initiated. The management of the newspaper, trade union leaders and FNJ’s Rajdhani representatives were holding talks until the preparation of this news. Ramesh Prasad Timalsina ललितपुर । जेठ ५ गते उर्त्र्सग प्रकाशनको राजधानी दैनिकमा कार्यरत मजदुरले विभिन्न माग राखी गरेको आन्दोलनका कारण उक्त पत्रिकाको वितरण कार्यमा ०७० जेठ ५ गते अवरोध सिर्जना भएको छ । अखिल नेपाल मजदुर सङ्गठनको राजधानी दैनिक एकाइको आहृवानमा मजदुरले न्यूनतम २४० दिन काम गरेका कामदारलाई स्थायी गर्नुपर्ने, न्यूनतम तलब उपलब्ध गराउनुपर्ने, श्रम ऐन र श्रमजीवी पत्रकार ऐन कार्यान्वयन गर्नुपर्ने लगायतका पाँचबुँदे माग राख्दै पत्रिकाको वितरणमा अवरोध गरेका हुन् । वितरणका निम्ति तयार पारिएको अखबारसहित कुपन्डोलस्थित राजधानी दैनिकको मूलगेटमै बिहान सबेरैदेखि मजदुरहरू धर्नामा बसेका थिए । यसैबीच राजधानी दैनिकमा कार्यरत पत्रकारहरूको टोलीले नेकपा-माओवादी निकट सञ्चार तथा छापाखाना मजदुर संगठनमा आबद्ध मजदूरले पत्रिकाको वितरणमा अवरोध पुर्‍याएको विरोधमा सञ्चारमन्त्रीलाई ध्यानाकर्षण गराइएको छ । टोलीलाई आश्वस्त पार्दै सञ्चारमन्त्री माधवप्रसाद पौडेलले सञ्चारमाध्यममाथिको आक्रमण प्रेस स्वतन्त्रताको मात्र नभइ नागरिकको अधिकारलाई कुण्ठित पार्ने काम भएको बताएका छन् । उनले प्रेसमाथि आक्रमण गर्नेलाई सरकारले संरक्षण नगर्ने स्पष्ट पार्दै राजधानी दैनिकमा भएको अवरोधका विषयमा तत्काल कानुनी कारवाही थालिने बताए । ०७० जेठ ५ गते साँझ पत्रिकाको व्यवस्थापन, मजदुर प्रतिनिधि र नेपाल पत्रकार महासंघ राजधानी प्रतिष्ठान शाखाका पदाधिकारीहरू ललितपुरको कुपण्डोलस्थित राजधानी दैनिकको कार्यालयमा वार्तामा बसेका छन् । रमेशप्रसाद तिमल्सिना
