The polls panel also issued a warning to CPN-Maoist Centre Whip Sita Nepali for spreading rumours through her Facebook page and asked her to furnish clarification within 24 hours. “Why should not we take appropriate action against you for violating the election code of conduct, “read a statement issued by the EC to both UML candidates and CPN-MC’s whip,” If otherwise, furnish clarifications within 24 hours after receiving this letter.”

According to the statement issued by EC’s Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma, UML’s Thakre Rural Municipality’s Chair nominee Ram Kumar Acharya and deputy chair candidate used three trucks to ferry party workers, one SUV, banners and T-shirts printed with the party’s election symbol during the poll campaign, which was against the election code of conduct -2015 and local level election code of conduct-2017. These candidates also organised a motorcycle rally for publicity, which the EC monitoring team, led by Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav had caught red-handed in Simle of Dhading.
