Nepali Congress leader and Minister for Health Gagan Thapa has been manhandled by the CPN-UML cadres. The cadres of the party chanted slogans against Minister Thapa when he reached Kapan in private vehicle. CPN-UML has claimed that Minister Thapa reached the area for the election campaign during the silent period. Minister Thapa, however, clarified that he went to the area for the personal business. “It is the right of any citizen to move for the personal work using private vehicle. I have not breach any election code of conduct”, said Minister Thapa. The cadres pelted stones on his vehicle resulting minor damage. Jeevan Bhandari, an aide to Minister Thapa said that he went to Kapan to visit his friend’s grandfather in private vehicle. कांग्रेस नेता एवं स्वास्थ्यमन्त्री गगन थापामाथि नेकपा एमालेका कार्यकर्ताले दुर्व्यवहार गरेका छन्। निजी गाडीमा काठमाडौंको कपन पुगेका मन्त्री थापालाई ‘गगनेलाई लखेट’ भन्दै एमाले कार्यकर्ताले दुर्व्यवहार गरेका हुन्। निर्वाचन आचारसंहिताविपरीत आफ्नो चुनावी क्षेत्रमा प्रचार गर्न आएको भन्दै एमाले कार्यकर्ता संशकित बनेका थिए। मौन अवधि लागू भइसकेको अवस्थामा आफ्नो निर्वाचन क्षेत्रमा सुरक्षाकर्मीसहित आउनु आचारसंहिता विपरित भएको एमाले कार्यकर्ताको दाबी छ। मन्त्री थापाले भने आफू व्यक्तिगत कामको लागि साथीको घरमा आएको प्रष्ट्याए। उनले आफूले कुनै आचारसंहिता उल्लंघन नगरेको दाबी गरे। 'व्यक्तिगत कामका लागि आफ्नो निजी गाडीमा हिँड्न पाउनु नागरिकको अधिकार हो। मैले कुनै आचारसंहिताविपरित काम गरेको छैन,' उनले भने। एमाले कार्यकर्ताले मन्त्री थापालाई केही परसम्म लखेटेका थिए। उनीहरुले थापाको गाडीमाथि ढुंगा प्रहार पनि गरेका थिए। ढुंगा प्रहारबाट थापाको गाडीमा सामान्य क्षति भएको बताइएको छ। मन्त्रीाक सहयोगी जीवन भण्डारीलेका अनुसार साथीको हजुरबुबालाई भेट्न निजी गाडीमा कपन आएका बेला एमाले कार्यकर्ताले दुर्व्यवहार गरेका थिए।
