Four Women Being Trafficked to India Rescued

Four women, who had been taken to India, have been rescued by police on December 27.

 

The rescued women have been identified as Goma Nepali, 21 of Tulsipur Municipality-4 of Dang, Laxmi Parja, 18, Sarita Pariyar, 19 and Nirmaya Praja of Kapille7 of Chitwan, Uday Tamang, DSP at Banke District Police Office said, adding that border police post at Jayaspur rescued them from Jamunaha checkpoint along the Nepalgunj-Rupaidiya border.

 

Police arrested Sharmila Pariyar, 24 of Deurali6 of Gorkha district who had taken the women to Nepalgunj Bus Park saying they will be taken to foreign country for job from Jamunaha on December 27.

 

The rescued women and Sharmila Pariyar have been taken to DPO, Jayashpur Police Post said.

 

A total of 238 women have been rescued this year, Keshav Koirala, regional coordinator of Maiti Nepali in Nepalgunj said.
