Morang/May 26 Police have arrested Ajurul Mahammad, 45, of Kadamaha VDC-2 on May 26 for attempt to kill his wife Baby Khatun, 38, by strangulating her with a rope on May 25 night. Her relatives have filed a complaint at Women and Children Service Centre on May 12 accusing Ajurul of trying to kill her in inebriated condition with the help of his sister Dhukhani Khatun. The locals had rescued Baby from in front of the house when her husband and sister-in-law were beating her and dragging her after tying the rope around her neck. Baby is being treated at Koshi Zonal Hospital. She has sustained bruises at neck, arms and back. The victim’s brother claimed that she was being assaulted because Ajurul wanted to have second wife. Her maternal sister-in-law, Ajmati Khatun said that Ajurul was held by the police earlier for thrashing his wife and was released on the condition of not treating his wife badly. Dipen Neupane मोरङ । जेठ १२ गते कदमहा गाविस-२ की ३८ वर्षीया बेवी खातुनलाई उनका पति ४५ वर्षीय अजुरुल महमदले ०७० जेठ ११ गते राति कुटपिटपछि घाँटीमा डोरीले बाँधेर मार्ने प्रयास गरेका छन् । आरोपितलाई प्रहरीले ०७० जेठ १२ गते गिरफ्तार गरेको छ । पीडितको विराटनगरस्थित कोसी अञ्चल अस्पतालमा उपचार हुँदैछ । पीडित पक्षले जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय महिला तथा बालबालिका सेवा केन्द्रमा ०७० जेठ १२ गते आरोपितविरुद्ध उजुरी दिएको छ । मादक पदार्थ सेवन गरेका आरोपित र उनकी बहिनी ३२ वर्षीय दुखनी खातुनले घरमा सुतेकी पीडितलाई लाठी, पेटी र लात्तीले कुटपिट गरी घाँटीमा डोरीले बाँधेर आँगनमा घिसार्दै गर्दा छिमेकीले पीडितको उद्धार गरेका थिए । कुटपिटबाट पीडितको घाँटी, पाखुरा, ढाडलगायत शरीरका विभिन्न भागमा निलडाम रहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय महिला तथा बालबालिका सेवा केन्द्रका प्रमुख सुमा कार्कीले बताइन् । आरोपितले अर्की पत्नी ल्याउन पीडितलाई कुटपिट गरेको पीडितका भाइ बद्रे आलमले बताए । आरोपितले यसअघि पनि पीडितलाई कुटपिट गरी घाइते बनाएका थिए । सो घटनापछि प्रहरीको रोहवरमा आरोपितले मादक पदार्थ नखाने र पत्नीलाई कुटपिट नगर्ने सहमति भएको पीडितकी भाउजू अजमति खातुनले बताइन् । दीपेन नेउपाने
