High Court has ordered District Administration Office to issue citizenship of Dipika Soni and Mohammad Sakil Halwai in the name of their mother within a month. Joint bench of Judges Sarang Subedi and Bir Bahadur Dangi issued the order. After the death of both of their fathers, DAO declined to issue their citizenship citing inadequate proof that they were Nepalese citizens. The court issued the order after 2 months of legal battle.
