Over 100 victims of the decade-long armed insurgency demanding to file their applications to claim the relief provided by the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction (MoPR) have picketed the offices of the Local Peace Committee and the District Administration Office on December 28.
Victims from Hathihawa, Bithuwa, Lawani, Nandanagar, Phulika VDCs among other had reached to LPC with personal forms on December 28. One month of time was given to fill up the forms, however, they could not fill up the form as the deadline expired on December 22.
The conflict victims, who were led by Sadbhawana Party district chairperson Shatrudhan Prasad Singh, had pressurized the LPC to accept their application forms. They reached to DAO after LPC secretary told them that the forms could not be accepted the deadline to submit them had already expired.
They argued that the forms should be accepted as the LPC had not informed them to submit the forms by December 22.
The victims returned home without submitting their forms after CDO told them that he will urge the MoPR to extend the deadline to accept the forms.
Over 500 forms were submitted by victims at the LPC by December 22.
